Filming at Ashcombe

Filming in Ashcombe is an option for production companies.  Ashcombe Holiday Cottages provide ample accommodation for large productions, the location is easy to reach with main roads, two mainline railways and Exeter International Airport nearby.

There are a number of notable buildings of historical or architectural interest:

Ashcombe Tower (1935) Grade II Arts and Crafts – Art Deco private house architect Brian O'Rorke.  The architect was originally an ocean liner architect for the Orient Steam Navigation Company and this design aesthetic features prominently in the style and layout of the house.

Ashcombe Parish Church (c 1259) – Grade I ancient church recorded in the Doomsday Book.  The small parish church sits on the hillside. The interior was largely remodelled in a Gothic style during the Victorian era.

The Old Rectory (1810) Grade II regency house. Built by the Rector of Ashcombe JM Wade this stunning building with a pretty veranda has a beautiful spring crocus meadow.
